Edie Lynn is here!!
She was born on Wednesday 1/27/10 at 12:35p weighing 6lbs. 10oz. and measuring 20 inches in length.

Sorry for the delay in updating this site...the hospital internet connection was causing some issues and blocking me from this site. Thanks for all the love and support...and Edie thanks you too! We will be going home Saturday afternoon, to start this new chapter of our lives at our home. More updates soon!

This is the last weekend before Edie arrives this Wednesday. Danielle is scheduled for a C-Section Wednesday 1/27/10 at noon. We are both very excited and ready for the new chapter of our lives together (and our families). Danielle's parents were down this weekend to celebrate Rick's birthday, and help with the finishing touches for Edie's room. It's surreal because this week, a little person moves in to this room that we have been planning for months. Below are the finished pics as of Sunday night before her birthday.

No matter what day you are using for a reference, the final countdown to Edie 2010 has begun. On our last doctor appointment, we found out that Edie is "breach" and we needed to schedule a C-section to be ready. Her original due date was Feb 2nd...and now a second due date in January 27th. We have another doctor appointment tomorrow to find out it she has turned and is ready to "head out" into this world. More details soon!

Christmas 2009 was a great time of family and fun. After a VERY hectic work week, and everything needed to get the radio stations ready for us to getaway for a few days, we made it it Appleton by early Christmas Eve. Danielle's brother Geoff had driven from Minnesota for the weekend, so the Derk's family was all together for the holiday. We enjoyed many great homemade meals, and lot's of fun. We went to the movies on Christmas Day to see the new Robert Downey Jr. movie "Sherlock Holmes"...it was a good movie. It was an ole' school CSI without Grissom. We napped throughout the weekend, so catching up on sleep was a thoughtful gift from Santa. Saturday night, we enjoyed the company of Steve and Gail, who are from Kentucky. Rick & Lynn spend time with them in KY each year.

We left Sunday to come back home, and since we need to stop every 45 minutes, we stopped at Burger King in Slinger, WI for some lunch. After we finished, we made an unplanned trip to an attraction that can be seen below.

This weekend, we spent time in Crown Point Indiana at my parents new home for the first on numerous baby showers for Danielle and Edie. Lots of family we on hand and their support and generosity were overwhelming. Below are pics from the event.
